The York Lions bested the Ontario Tech soccer programs on Sunday, blanking the Ridgebacks in both matches. 

York defeated Ontario Tech 2-0, with second half goals by Valentina Khan and Alexandra Quaidoo. Alicia Chisholm (Woodbridge, Ont.) and Nicole Paraskevopoulos (Scarborough, Ont.) split time in goal for the Ridgebacks.

Following the women's match, the men fell 1-0 to the Lions. Matthew Mollicola scored in the 71st minute to lift his team to victory. Matthew Mattila (Pickering, Ont.) and Kevon Grant each played a half in goal.

These matches concluded preseason for both programs, who now turn attention to conference play, which begins Saturday, Sept. 3 in Kingston against the Queen's Gaels. Kick-off is 1 and 3:15 p.m.
