OSHAWA, Ont. - For the first time since 2016, the Ontario Tech men's hockey team has advanced to the second round of the Queen's Cup playoffs.
The Ridgebacks defeated the Concordia Stingers 6-4 in Montreal and will now face the UQTR Patriotes on Saturday night in Round 2.
Captain
Jack Patterson (Bedford, N.S.) scored three for Ontario Tech, including the sixth goal on an empty net.
Nicolas Tardif (Chelsea, Que.) opened the scoring for the Ridgebacks, with
Sean Ross (Bracebridge, Ont.) and
Andrew Suriyuth (Kingston, Ont.) rounding out the Ontario Tech scoring.
Leif Hertz (Kingston, Ont.) made 25 saves in his first OUA playoff win.
