TORONTO, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's basketball team was unable to overcome a hot start from the York Lions Saturday afternoon as they fell 87-63.
After giving up 29 points in the opening quarter, Ontario Tech dug in on defence and found some solid offensive showings in the loss.
Hadeza Ismaila (Oshawa, Ont.) led the way for the Ridgebacks with 20 points and four rebounds,
Vanessa Budimunda (Montreal, Que.) had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and
Alyssa Carin (Mississauga, Ont.) had 14 points and three rebounds.
The Ridgebacks will return to Oshawa where they will face the 4-3 Queen's Gaels on Feb. 22 before heading out on the final road trip to close out the season.
