KINGSTON, Ont. – In their first game since early December, the Ontario Tech men's hockey team won 4-1 over the Queen's Gaels.
The first period was quiet and ended scoreless.
Period two was packed with action as Ridgeback
Andrew Suriyuth (Kingston, Ont.) opened the scoring.
Cullen McLean (Whitby, Ont.) grabbed the game's second goal during a 5-on-3 power play for the Ridgebacks.
Shortly after, Queen's scored their first and only goal of the game. Suriyuth answered with his second of the game for the Ridgebacks.
With a solid lead for the Ridgebacks heading into the third, Queen's tried to rally, but could not break the Ridgebacks.
In the last 56 seconds of the game, Matt Barron (Yarmouth, N.S.) scored his first of the night to cap off a three-point game and give Ontario Tech a three-goal lead.
In net,
Leif Hertz (Kingston, Ont.) made 27 saves in the victory.
