Ridgebacks comeback falls short against defending champions

On Friday night, the Ontario women's hockey team welcomed the Brock Badgers into Oshawa for their home opener. After a highly-competitive contest, the Badgers defeated the Ridgebacks 3-2.

After falling behind 2-0 in the second period, Ontario Tech stormed back to even the score. First-year defenceman Melisa Ardanaz (Surrey, B.C.) cut the deficit in half at the 12:20 mark with her first OUA goal.
 
Erin Ross (Lucan, Ont.) evened the score five minutes later, at the 17:05 mark.
 
A fast-paced final period would come down to the wire as Badgers forward Catriona Cormier picked up the game-winning goal with under five minutes left in regulation.

Ridgebacks goalie Zoe McGee (Kanata, Ont.) finished with 22 saves in Friday night's loss.

Ontario tech is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 29, to take on the Guelph Gryphons. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m.
