The Ontario Tech women's lacrosse team ended their conference play prior to next weekend's OUA championship with a 17-10 win over the Brock Badgers on Sunday.
Ontario Tech scored six goals in the first quarter and four more in the second to go up 10-6 at half. After three Brock had closed the gap to 11-9 before the Ridgebacks exploded with six fourth quarter goals to pick up the victory.
Kendra Orr (Brooklin, Ont.) and
Caitlyn Cote (Oshawa, Ont.) each scored six to lead the Ridgebacks offence.
Hannah Bragg (Oshawa, Ont.) added two goals, while
Catherine Vinkovic (Oshawa, Ont.),
Rachel Kucera (Oshawa, Ont.) and
Tanner Gustavsen-Walker (Whitby, Ont.) each scored once.
Ontario Tech will now head to the University of Toronto this weekend for the OUA championship where they will start against the Trent Excalibur on Friday afternoon, followed by an evening game against the Laurier Golden Hawks. Following pool play, the top four teams will advance to the medal round.
