OTTAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's basketball team is leaving the nation's capital without a win as they fell 83-59 to the No. 7 ranked Carleton Ravens.
The loss sees the Ridgebacks fall to 1-5 on the season, but it came with some bright spots throughout the game.
Nadia Ismaila (Ottawa, Ont.) was inserted into the starting line-up, making it the first time her and her sister
Hadeza Ismaila (Ottawa, Ont.) have started together, but the most promising development may be the shooting off the bench.
Jolesha Allen Brown (Oshawa, Ont.) was perfect from three-point range with 12 points and
Kamelya Brodeur (Laval, Que.) had nine points, all from deep as well. Despite the lights out shooting from the two, the Ridgebacks weren't able to keep up with the Ravens balanced offence.
The Ridgebacks will face yet another nationally ranked opponent when they return to the Campus Recreation & Wellness Centre on Nov. 24 as the No. 8 ranked, and undefeated Rams will visit for the last two games before the break.
