Nationally ranked Gaels top Ridgebacks

OSHAWA, Ont. – Despite scoring prior to halftime, the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks were unable to battle back for a point against the No. 7 ranked Queen's Gaels on Thursday night.
 
Queen's two-goal first half gave them a 3-1 victory to continue their perfect season.
 
Cecilia Way opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, with Christie Gray increasing the lead to two in the 36th minute.
 
In injury time, Ashlynne Koly (Vancouver, B.C.) scored her first OUA goal, driving home a rebound from Sarah Foster's (Oshawa, Ont.) shot that went of the crossbar.
   
Jamie Foot scored the third goal for the Gaels in the 77th minute to put the game out of reach for Ontario Tech.
 
Alicia Chisholm (Woodbridge, Ont.) made five saves in goal for the Ridgebacks, while Kirstin Tynan made one for the Gaels.
 
Both teams meet again on Saturday in Kingston for the second half of their home-and-home.
