OSHAWA, Ont. – Ontario Tech opened the OUA women's field lacrosse championship with a 16-9 win over the McMaster Marauders.
The hosts led from the start, with player of the game
Caitlyn Cote (Oshawa, Ont.) scoring six goals for the Ridgebacks.
Ayden Briggs (Oshawa, Ont.) scored three times, while
Brooke Watson (Courtice, Ont.),
Hannah Bragg (Oshawa Ont.) and
Catherine Vinkovic scored twice.
Amanda Di Mascio (Georgetown, Ont.) added a single tally.
Cassidy Anyon led the McMaster offence with four goals.
The Ridgebacks next play the Western Mustangs at 4 p.m.
