OSHAWA, Ont. - Despite being down by only four at halftime in their first game of 2020, the Ontario Tech men's basketball team struggled down the stretch as the Guelph Gryphons handed them a 94-72 loss on Wednesday night.
Both teams shot the ball well, but Guelph going 54 per cent from the field made the difference in the game, especially going 11-for-19 from three-point range.
Now Ontario Tech turns their attention to the Algoma Thunderbirds on Monday, Jan. 13, their first-ever school day game, which tips off at 1 p.m. in front of what is expected to be the largest crowd this season.
• Five Gryphons were in double-digits offensively, but were led by Malcolm Glanville's 16 points.

Graddy Kanku (Ottawa, Ont.) had a game-high 19 points for the Ridgebacks, while
Ammar Hassan (London, Ont.) was the only Ontario Tech player in double-digits with 16.

Ammar Hassan had 15 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season.

Graddy Kanku had a team-high six assists and three steals to go along with his offensive output.
• Banky Alade had his team's only double-double with 10 boards, while Aaron Nugent had a game-high seven assists for the Gryphons.
