TORONTO, Ont. – After a hard-fought victory over the host Toronto Varsity Blues the Ontario Tech University women's lacrosse team were handed a split in Saturday action by the Trent Excalibur.
The Ridgebacks defeated the Toronto Varsity Blues 13-10 in their opening game of the day.
Ontario Tech received seven goals by
Nicole Martindale (Brooklin, Ont.), while
Caitlyn Cote (Oshawa, Ont.) scored three with three assists. Rounding out the Ridgebacks offence was
Ayden Briggs (Oshawa, Ont.) with two goals.
Lauren Young (Fergus, Ont.) made eight saves in the victory.
Wrapping up the day the Excalibur offence was too much for Ontario Tech as they defeated the Ridgebacks 19-3.
Martindale scored twice, with Cote rounding out the Ridgebacks scoring.
Next weekend the Ridgebacks are back in action on Saturday in Toronto with their second games of the season against the Queen's Gaels and Trent Excalibur.
