GUELPH, Ont. – It was a great start to the dance year for the Ridgebacks as they competed in Guelph this weekend at Terpsichore Dance Celebration.
 
The highest scoring soloist for the weekend was Doraianna Filippo with a 94.72.
 
UOIT finished in first place in the age 21 contemporary duo/trio category, with Danielle Bates and Victoria Berkers, scoring a 94.47.
 
They also finished first in the age 20 contemporary small group competition with 'Coaster' scoring a 94.86.
 
Rounding out the events for the Ridgebacks was their routine 'Never Enough' scoring a 94.96, a fourth-place finish for 'Say my Name ' (94.72) and 'Burn it Up' scoring a 93.34.
 
This all precedes the annual Ridgebacks Dance Showcase, hosted at the Regent Theatre on Thursday, March 14.
 
Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5.
