OSHAWA, Ont. – The UOIT curling teams wrapped up their OUA season on Sunday after wrapping up round-robin play at the OUA championship.
The women fell 4-3 to the Lakehead Thunderwolves in their final game of the weekend to finish the tournament with a 2-5 record. UOIT missed the medal round, with the fourth place Carleton Ravens taking the final Pool A spot with a 4-3 record.
On the men's side the Ridgebacks split their day, but needed two wins to have a shot at the medal round. Their first game of the day was a rough one as they lost 8-0 to the Ryerson Rams.
UOIT defeated the Queen's Gaels 7-3 in the last draw of the round-robin. The Gaels and the Ridgebacks were both eliminated before the game, but victory gave the Ridgebacks a 2-5 record to end on a positive note.
This brings the varsity season to a close for the Ridgebacks curling programs.
