OSHAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech University women's basketball team opened their preseason schedule on Friday night at home with an 83-44 loss to the Brock Badgers.
Brock led from the get-go, but the Ridgebacks coaching staff know there are positives to take away from their first action with their inaugural squad.
"It wasn't the way we had hoped to open our exhibition play. We have a lot of things we need to do better and focus on moving forward," said head coach
Christa Eniojukan. "There are definitely positives we can take from the game to carry forward this season, but overall we will learn from this experience and be better moving forward."
Melissa Tatti had a game-high 23 points for the Brock Badgers, being one of three Badgers to reach double-digit scoring.
For the host Ridgebacks,
Bilan Khadar (Ottawa, Ont.) had the team high total of 13 points in the game in 22 minutes on the court. She was 5-for-8 shooting, including 3-for-3 from behind the arc.
Tomorrow Ontario Tech has the day off as they prepare to host the York Lions on Sunday afternoon for their second preseason game at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Centre.
