OSHAWA, Ont. – Chelsea Ball (Maple, Ont.) proved to be the hero on Sunday afternoon as her shootout goal was the difference in 3-2 victory over the Carleton Ravens.
 
This was the Ridgebacks' second victory in their three preseason games. They will wrap up their exhibition schedule next Saturday at home against the Laurier Golden Hawks.
 
Following their final tuneup, they will host the Nipissing Lakers on Friday, Oct. 12 to open their OUA conference play.
 

LIGHT THE LAMP

• UOIT's came from down a goal twice to push the game to overtime and eventually the shootout.
• Chelsea Ball earned the game-winning goal in the shootout.
• The Ridgebacks regulation goals came from Sarah Biesenthal (Chepstow, Ont.) and Megan Johnston (Goderich, Ont.).
 

BETWEEN THE PIPES

• Celine Tessier (Chapleau, Ont.) earned the win in goal for the Ridgebacks, while Alexandra Lehman took the loss for the Ravens.
