OSHAWA, Ont. – The UOIT Ridgebacks men's soccer team finished their season on a high note with a 1-0 win over the visiting Trent Excalibur.
UOIT got off to a strong start when first-year defensive midfielder
Jacob Begley (Markham, Ont.) scored in just the 14
th minute of the match, marking that as his first OUA goal.
The Ridgebacks went on to hold their lead for the final 76 minutes as
Owen Hughes (Toronto,Ont.) made a total of five saves to earn the clean sheet, his first OUA career milestone as well.
Although it was not the result they had hoped for this season, finishing with a 5-11-0 record, the Ridgebacks can still be proud of how well they played with so many new faces added to the roster. Hopes will continue to build as the young core grows together.
