PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – Although it is not the result they had hoped for, the UOIT men's soccer team earned a valuable point on the road as they tied the Trent Excalibur 0-0 at their homecoming on Saturday afternoon.

UOIT (4-4-2) sits in fourth place in the OUA eastern conference standings, one point behind the Laurentian Voyageurs (5-4-0) and three points ahead of the Queen's Gaels (3-4-2). UOIT and Laurentian will meet two times in the remaining six games including next Saturday at the Oshawa Civic starting at 2:15 p.m.

Both teams looked tentative on Saturday afternoon as they combined for just five shots on target, four of which were by UOIT. Mitchell Leclair and
Nicholas Miller (Oshawa, Ont.) each earned clean sheets in goal. For Miller, it was his third of the year.

UOIT's match against Laurentian is part of the Ridgebacks' think pink initiative in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and SickKids Foundation. Fans can purchase special pink t-shirts at the game for just $10, with proceeds going towards the campaign.
