Women's Lacrosse UOIT Sports Information

Ridgebacks host a successful day of OUA lacrosse

OSHAWA, Ont. – The UOIT lacrosse team hosted five OUA matches on Sunday at the Civic with the Toronto Varsity Blues and Trent Excalibur leaving Oshawa with a pair of wins.
 
Trent, who is coming off a victory over the five-time OUA champion Western Mustangs, dominated their opponents beating UOIT 19-2 and York 19-1. Leah Michel scored four goals in each game while Allie Ogilvie had six goals in total.

The Varsity Blues beat UOIT by the same score and also edged out the Queen's Gaels 13-10 in the closest game of the day. Laura McGillis scored five goals against Queen's and added two goals and an assist vs. the Ridgebacks.
 
Both Trent and Toronto are 4-0 to start the season.
 
Queen's was the other winner on the day as they beat York 15-3 in the final game. Sam French had a hat-trick against the Lions while Bri Barton scored four goals vs. Toronto.
 
Kristin Lemmon scored three of the Ridgebacks four goals while Holly Collins had the other.
 
Up next for UOIT is a match against York next Sunday at 8:30 a.m. York is 1-3 to start the year with their lone win coming against McMaster. UOIT will have a rematch with Toronto on Sunday afternoon at 1:45 p.m.
