ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – The UOIT men's soccer team saw their first action of the preseason Friday afternoon under the guidance of Peyvand Mossavat as program head coach just five days after training camp opened.
 
With their entire lineup seeing action in the game the Ridgebacks fell short of a win as the Badgers edged them 2-1.
 
Striker George Meditskos (Toronto, Ont.) scored the lone goal for the Ridgebacks, as he enters the year with five OUA conference goals under his belt.

With the graduation of Travis Martin in goal, Mossavat will be looking for one of the goalkeepers in training camp to step up and grasp the starters role heading into conference play.
 
The Ridgebacks will wrap up preseason action on Saturday as they travel to Alumni Field in Guelph to take on the Gryphons.
 
OUA conference action begins on August 28 when UOIT travels to Ottawa for a match against the Carleton Ravens.
