TORONTO, Ont. – The UOIT men's soccer team was handed their second conference loss of the season by the No. 2 ranked Ryerson Rams on Wednesday night. 
After starting the season 2-0-1, the Ridgebacks lost their first match of the season on Saturday at Carleton. Wednesday the nationally ranked Rams defeated UOIT 5-2 in Toronto. 
Ryerson's Raheem Rose opened the scoring in the match in the 26
th minute. It wasn't until the 45
th minute that the Ridgebacks would draw even as captain 
Erik Petrovic scored on a penalty kick. 
At halftime the teams were tied 1-1. 
Early in the second half Jackson Tooke put the Rams ahead 2-1. Just 11 minutes later Nick Lambis increased Ryerson's score differential to two. 
Martin Dabrowski pushed their lead to three with 13 minutes to play in the match, but the scoring was not over in what was now a 4-1 game. 
Petrovic scored his second of the match in the 85
th minute to make it 4-2, but Rose would also score his second goal of the match in the 90
th minute to give the Rams their 5-2 victory. 
Travis Martin faced seven shots on goal in the loss, while Praveen Ahilan earned the win by making three saves on five shots. 
UOIT's next action is this Saturday at home against the Trent Excalibur. In their first meeting of the season, in Peterborough, the Ridgebacks picked up a 4-2 victory. 
Kick-off for the match is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Vaso's Field.
