OAKVILLE, Ont. - Playing in their second game in as many days, the UOIT men's soccer team surrendered a late goal as the defending CCAA national champion Sheridan Bruins won 2-1.
Coaches on the UOIT sideline had a chance to scout a number of new faces in the team's lineup. Fabio Campoli, who is one of the newcomers, scored his first goal to level the score with Sheridan midway through the second half.
With five minutes remaining in the game, Sheridan found a way through the Ridgebacks backline to score and earn the victory on home turf.
The Ridgebacks will close out their three game stretch on Sunday as they pay a visit to St. Catharines for a 2 p.m. kickoff against the Brock Badgers.
UOIT will open up OUA regular season play on Saturday, Aug. 29 against the Nipissing Lakers. Game time is at 2 p.m.
