Ridgebacks fall to Queen's in women's LAX GUELPH, Ont. – The UOIT women's field lacrosse team opened up their season with a 13-6 loss to the Queen's Gaels on Saturday afternoon.
Moving from defence to goaltender to replace graduating senior
Tessa Lam,
Jenn Daly (Ajax, Ont.) had an outstanding game in net for UOIT as she recorded 25 saves and three interceptions.
Offensively,
Taylor Milburn (Whitby, Ont.) led the team as she recorded a hat-trick while
Jill Carroll (Whitby, Ont.) had two goals.
Kathryn Goodwin (Whitby, Ont.) also chipped in on the score sheet with a single goal.
The Ridgebacks will be back in action next Sunday when they head to Trent University. UOIT will face the hosting Excalibur at 8 a.m. followed by a rematch with Queen's at 12:30 p.m.
