UOIT suffers first loss of 2014

TORONTO – The UOIT men's soccer team suffered their first loss of the preseason as they were shutout 3-0 by the Humber Hawks.

After the Ridgebacks third straight scoreless half, the Hawks finally found a way to beat UOIT goalkeeper Travis Martin (Whitby, Ont.) as they scored three straight goals in the final 45 minutes to earn the victory.

Although head coach Vaso Vujanovic was not impressed that his team did not earn a victory, he did however get to see the majority of his line-up get game action.

Humber is entering the season with huge expectations having won the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) national championship the past two seasons and the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) provincial championship for four straight years.

UOIT will look to pick up their first win on Saturday when they head to St. Catharines for a match against the Brock Badgers. UOIT's first victory in program history came against the Badgers on the road in 2011.
