Defence shines in a scoreless draw
  
OSHAWA, Ont. – The UOIT men's soccer team opened up their preseason with a 0-0 draw against the Windsor Lancers on Tuesday at Civic Fields in Oshawa.
 
Defence and goaltending was exceptional for both sides, as the offensive units could not find a way to break the scoreless deadlock.
 
Coming into the season, head coach Vaso Vujanovic made shoring up his back end a priority as the Ridgebacks allowed an OUA high 50 goals in 16 conference games last season. Tuesday's effort was a good sign that the team was moving in the right direction as they managed to preserve the cleansheet.
 
The Ridgebacks will continue preseason action on Friday afternoon with a road trip to Toronto to take on the two-time defending CCAA national champion Humber Hawks. Kick-off is at 4 p.m.
