OUA Men's Soccer Playoffs
UOIT faces Ryerson in Toronto on Sunday TORONTO, Ont. – It's not surprising that there's excitement surrounding the soccer programs at UOIT.
With a nationally ranked women's team and a men's squad riding a six-game win streak into the OUA East quarter-final this weekend there is a lot to be excited about.
The Ridgebacks men's squad made their way into this weekend's match against the No. 8 ranked Ryerson Rams with a victory over the Carleton Ravens on Wednesday. The two squads were unable to score in full time and extra time, sending the game to penalty kicks.
UOIT scored on each of their first four shots, while keeper
Travis Martin stopped two Carleton shooters to give the program their first OUA playoff victory in their first playoff appearance.
This Sunday's match is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Ryerson.
The Ridgebacks lost 2-0 to the Rams on Sept. 17 at home, but defeated them 3-0 on the road on Oct. 15.
