UOIT field lacrosse picks up their second win of the year
OUA Women's Field Lacrosse: UOIT defeated York 10-5
TORONTO – The UOIT women's field lacrosse team earned their second victory of the season as they defeated the York Lions 10-5 in Toronto.
It was a trio from Whitby leading the offensive charge for UOIT with Kristen Bright, Taylor Milburn and Brittnay Simmons lighting up the scoreboard as they combined for eight goals.
Simmons finished the game with a pair of goals and Bright registered two goals and three assists. Milburn recorded four goals in the win, three of which were in the first half. In both of UOIT's victories this season, Milburn has recorded at least a hat-trick.
Other goal scorers for UOIT included Kathryn Goodwin and Tiffany Allen. Ridgeback veteran Tessa Lam was in net, as she allowed a season low five goals.
UOIT's second match of the day against Queen's was rained out.
The Ridgebacks next action will be at the OUA provincial championship, which is scheduled to take place at Queen's University from November 1-3.
