Peyvand Mossavat

Mossavat joined Ontario Tech in 2012 as head coach of the women's soccer prorgram after eight years coaching with the Ryerson Rams and York Lions in the OUA. He would also take the helm of the men's program ahead of the 2016-16 season. 
 
He is a five-time OUA coach of the year. After leading Ontario Tech to their first OUA championship in school history in 2016, with the women defeating Queen's 1-0 in the final, he was named U SPORTS coach of the year - his second time receiving the honour after capturing it in 2014. Following their provincial championship, Mossavat also led the Ridgebacks to their first-ever U SPORTS medal that same year, a bronze in Nova Scotia at their second U SPORTS championship appearance.
 
In 2015 and 2017 he was also the head coach of the Canadian women's soccer team at the Summer Universiades held in Gwangju, South Korea and Taipei, Taiwan. He has also once again been tasked with leading the national team at the 2019 Summer Universiade in Napoli, Italy this July.

Mossavat holds a USSF National A licence and works at the national training centre of Ontario as the head coach of the U14 girls provincial team. In 2012 he coached the U15 girls provincial team to a national championship title in Halifax, N.S. Locally, he is the Academy Director with DeRo United Futbol Academy where he is responsible for coaching and player development at the grassroots and elite level.

As a player, he was a member of the Canadian Olympic program and represented Canada in 1993 in the World University Games. Professionally, he was a five-time all-star in the Canadian Professional Soccer League.
