Sampogna and Milburn named UOIT student-athletes of the week
OSHAWA, Ont. – Sonia Sampogna (women’s soccer) and Taylor Milburn (women’s field lacrosse) have been named the UOIT student-athletes of the week presented by Boston Pizza - North Oshawa.

Sampogna, a health science major from Toronto, scored the game-winning goal for UOIT this weekend in a 2-1 victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo. Tied 1-1 in the fourth minute of injury time, Sampogna managed to put one past veteran goalkeeper Katrina Ward to give the Ridgebacks their third conference win this season.
Milburn, a Concurrent education major from Whitby, recorded a hat-trick in UOIT’s first ever women’s field lacrosse victory. Playing McGill at Trent University, UOIT was able to pull off an 8-6 victory over the Redmen. Milburn also added another goal in the Ridgebacks game against the University of Toronto.
