Yuill named UOIT’s student-athlete of the week

OSHAWA, Ont. – Cameron Yuill (Wellington, Ont.) of the UOIT men’s hockey team has been named the UOIT student-athlete of the week presented by Boston Pizza North Oshawa for the period ending Nov. 23.

Against the No. 5 ranked Windsor Lancers on Saturday, Yuill picked up two assists for the second straight game. In 15 games this season, the communications major is second in team scoring with five goals and six assists. His 11 points is one shy of his career high, which he recorded last season with 12 points in 27 games.

The Ridgebacks will host back-to-back games this weekend as they welcome Laurentian (Friday) and Nipissing (Saturday) to the Campus Ice Centre. Saturday’s afternoon game will feature a book signing by Sportnet anchor Ken Reid as well as the Ridgebacks annual food drive where fans can win Maple Leafs tickets.
