Fischer entered her ninth year as the head coach of the Ridgebacks varsity curling program in 2019-20.
In the inaugural year, the Ridgebacks men's team went undefeated at the Toronto Invitational, the teams' first ever bonspiel. At the OUA championship in Guelph, the women's team finished in sixth place and the men's team was fifth.
In 2013, the women’s curling team won the Brock Invitational, finished second at the Ridgeback Bonspiel and made the elimination round of the OUA championship. During the 2013-14 season, the men’s team reached the finals of the Brock Invitational, while the women’s team won three straight draws at the provincial championship.
In 2014-15 the men's team had their best showing at the OUA championship, finishing the round-robin with a 5-1 record, which advanced them to the quarter-finals for the first time in program history. Laurier defeated Ontario Tech 5-3 in the game. Earlier in the season both teams won the Ridgebacks Invitational at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club.
During the 2016-17 season the Ridgebacks hosted the OUA championship for the first time in program history, narrowly missing the medal round after an impressive showing on home ice.
