John Rushnell joined the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks golf program as head coach in advance of the 2017 season.

Rushnell was Oshawa's Golf and Curling Club's full-time teaching instructor for seven years leading into this role and has been teaching full-time for over 20 years.

During his professional golfing career, Rushnell has competed throughout the United States and Canada with numerous wins on the Great Lakes Tour and Ontario PGA. One of his biggest accomplishments is qualifying and competing in the 2009 Senior US Open. The second ever head coach of Ontario Tech golf brings PGA of Canada Class "A" Teaching Professional experience with him.

From 2009-17, he has competed in 86 tournaments through the PGA of Ontario - with his most recent being the 2017 Pro Pro Team Series in May at The Club at North Halton in Georgetown.

Prior to coaching, John graduated from Durham College, earning a diploma in the Business Administration program.
