Jarod Witvoet brings a unique perspective and spirit of competitiveness to the UOIT coaching staff. Jarod has gained a broad range of competitive athletic experience throughout his high school and university career. Jarod began playing badminton in 2008, and soon after began training with the Phoenix Badminton Club under the guidance of Wayne King for several years. Jarod has also found success playing competitive volleyball, earning provincial gold and bronze medals with his club team, as well as two OFSAA bronze medals in his final two years of high school.

As a 2016 UOIT graduate of nuclear engineering, Jarod has a thorough understanding of the social culture of UOIT and its student body. As a UOIT alumnus, Jarod will aid in bridging the gap between the UOIT badminton team and the UOIT alumni. This includes creating awareness about the badminton team, as well as exploring potential fundraising opportunities in order to facilitate the development and growth of the UOIT badminton program.

Within the UOIT badminton programme, Jarod will serve as a sparring partner and skills demonstrator. With his competitive experiences, Jarod brings a drive to improve, and determination to succeed to the UOIT badminton team. As a UOIT alumnus, Jarod will work to maintain and improve coach-athlete relations, as well as team-alumni relations.
