LONDON, Ont. – The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks showed stretches of strong play on Friday night but couldn't overcome a fast start from the Western Mustangs, falling 91–57 in OUA women's basketball action at Alumni Hall.
Western opened with a 30-point first quarter and carried that momentum through the game, holding a 50–35 lead at halftime before extending the gap late. Despite the scoreline, Ontario Tech battled to create chances offensively and forced 19 Western turnovers.
Kaleah Gosse paced the Ridgebacks with 14 points, including three from beyond the arc, while Quincy Okubasu added eight points and six rebounds. Amarachi Achioso contributed six points, four rebounds, and three assists, and Adra Barnet finished with six points and four boards.
Sydney Cowan led Western with 23 points, eight rebounds, and seven steals. Paris Alexander added 15 points and six steals, while Renee Armstrong chipped in 12 points.
The Ridgebacks continue their road swing tomorrow when they visit the Windsor Lancers on Saturday, November 1, in Windsor, Ont.
