Joe Vaz records UOIT's first-ever men's soccer hat-trick
OUA Men's Soccer: UOIT defeated Waterloo 4-2
WATERLOO, Ont. – The UOIT men's soccer team ended their eight-game winless streak on Sunday afternoon as they earned a 4-2 road win over the Waterloo Warriors.

Joe Vaz of Whitby recorded a hat-trick, as he scored three second half goals in the Ridgeback win. This is the first time in UOIT men's soccer history that a player has recorded a hat-trick.
Vaz would tie the game up at one's in the 49th minute, and score the Ridgebacks third (66') and fourth (81') goals to secure the victory. Playing in only 11 of 14 games because of injuries, Vaz has still managed to lead UOIT in scoring with five goals.
Andrew Serediuk (Mississauga, Ont.) was the other goal scorer for UOIT, as he notched his first of the season in the 62nd minute. Serediuk's goal tied the game at 2-2, as it came only eight minutes after Waterloo took their second lead of the game.
Yusuf Khaled and Matthew Sinagoga were the goal scorers for Waterloo.

Travis Martin earned the win in net, as he stopped three Waterloo shots on target. The Ridgebacks would outshoot Waterloo 7-5.
Both of UOIT's victories this season have come against Waterloo, as they extend their winning streak to four games over the Warriors dating back to last season.
UOIT moves into a tie for seventh place in the OUA western conference with the Brock Badgers, as both teams have seven points. The Ridgebacks will wrap up their regular season against York (Wednesday) and Windsor (Sunday) at home. York in the No. 3 ranked team in the CIS.
